Snaffle (2004)

In 2004, Snapple launched a summer promotion called “Snaffle”, in which consumers who collected a winning combination caps could turn in their caps for a prize. During each of the 12 weeks in the May to August promotional period, a random drawing of the winning of the non-wild numbers was conducted on TV at Wednesday 10pm.  The “wild” number could not have been randomly drawn because these numbers were purposefully very rare in order to limit the number of winners.

The prizes included (1) a behind the scenes tour of New York City replete with helicopter rides, Yankee games, and a look at an abandoned subway, (2) a trip for two to an MTV event, (3) a walk-on role on Spike TV’s game show Oblivious,  and (4) a weeklong trip for two Down Under with surfing lessons and $1,000 in cash.

The Snaffle cap promotion introduced 198 new “Real Facts” ranging from #230 to #427.
